UPSC CMS Exam Pattern

As per the UPSC 2020 official notification, there are 2 stages to get recruited. Part-I is a Computer Based Test and Part-II is a personality Test. Here is a detailed pattern of the 2 parts.
Paper-I

  • It is an MCQ examination, Each Question will have 4 options.
  • The Total Number of questions asked are 120 for total marks of 250
  • Negative Marking is applicable 1/3rd Mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • If two or more answers are given by the candidate, it will be considered as the wrong answer and negative marking is applicable even if one of the options is correct.
  • There is no negative marking for unanswered questions.

Paper-II

  • It is an MCQ examination, Each Question will have 4 options.
  • The Total Number of questions asked are 120, 40 questions from each of the sections given above. The total number of marks for the examination is 250 marks.
  • The Commission has set the time limit for UPSC CMS 2020 is 2 hours.
  • Negative Marking is applicable 1/3rd Mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • If two or more answers are given by the candidate, it will be considered as the wrong answer and negative marking is applicable even if one of the options is correct.
  • There is no negative marking for unanswered questions.

Personality Test

  • The candidates who will qualify the Part I CBT examination, are eligible for the Part II examination.
  • The Part II examination is the Personality Test.
  • The Personality/Interview Test will be for 100 marks which will be taken by the UPSC Officials.

The details of the selection process have been declared in the official notification by UPSC. Candidates under UPSC CMS recruitment will be selected on the basis of their performance on 2 stages:

UPSC CMS Post Salary And Payscale

The UPSC CMS starting salary will be INR 56100. But the salary will differ for different posts of the UPSC CMS.
Rs.15600/ – Rs.39100/- + Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-
Rs.56100 – Rs.177500/- + Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-
